BMS College of Engineering Was founded by Late Shri B.M. Sreenivasaiah with three UG Programmes in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering & Electrical Engineering.
1957
Registration of BMS Educational Trust
1968
BMSCE became a Grant-In Aid Institution
1971
BMSCE completed 25 years and celebrated Silver Jubilee
1979
Establishment of International Co-operation Division [ICD]
1983
BMSCE started the first PG Programme. The first Techno Cultural Mega Fest – UTSAV was started during the same year
1994
BMSCE became a partner of the Melton foundation, USA
1996
BMSCE completed 50 years of its journey. Celebrated Golden Jubilee
2005
BMSCE qualified for grants under Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme [TEQIP] - A World Bank project
2008
UGC granted academic autonomy for all the UG programme of BMSCE
2011
BMSCE was recognized as a QIP Centre by AICTE
2013
BMSCE was accredited with A Grade (3.41 out of 4) by NAAC. First Graduation Day of the autonomous batch held. TEQIP grant of five crores towards Centre of Excellence in Advanced Materials Research
2014
First institution in India with NBA Accreditation under Tier-1-Washington Accord. Granted Permanent Affiliation by VTU. Developed Innovation Laboratories (Propel labs)
2018-2019
Best performance in TEQIP. Inauguration of Platinum Jubilee Block. Accredited with A++ Grade (3.83 out of 4) by NAAC
2022-2024
UGC extended autonomous status for 10 years. Awarded 5G use case Laboratory. Attained ISO 14001:2015 certification
