The Placement Cell serves as a crucial bridge between graduates and top-tier architectural firms. Catering to students of undergraduate and postgraduate, the Placement Cell is dedicated to ensuring that students transition smoothly from academic life to professional practice. Some of the key facilities and functions include:

• Industry Connection: Placement Cell organizes annual placement sessions, inviting reputed firms to recruit students. This initiative connects students directly with industry professionals, enhancing their employment prospects.

Library facilities

BMS CAD&P has one of the largest, fully automated ‘Library and Information Centre’ hosting best collection of books, journals, magazines, thesis, project reports, CDs, e-resources, and government documents (Master Plan Documents, Handbooks, etc.). The library collection currently comprises of print books under heads of UG, PG, and Research, over 2500 e-books, nearly 70 national and international print journals, along with subscriptions to 10 databases. It is designed to meet the information needs of the students, research Scholars, faculty, and staff members provided with an exclusive digital reference section. The library has subscriptions of top referencing such as JSTOR Sustainability, JSTOR Collection, DELNET, Knowledge Hub (K-Hub), Charles Correa Archive, Grammarly, DrillBits plagiarism software, and under VTU Consortium- Taylor and Francis, ProQuest, Springer, Elsevier, Emerald, IEEE Databases and many more. Library functions between 8 AM – 8 PM on all working days to benefit for extended referencing hours. To enable accessibility, the library provides remote access to e-resources, virtual reference services, and a question point service called as ‘Ask Librarian’. The automation system includes an entirely bar-coded collection using RFID Technology and integrated with Koha Library Management Software. The library offers many services to users, such as an online book renewal and reservation system, an online public access catalogue, online purchase suggestions, database orientation, patron management, book bank facility, special encouragement for the top three students each semester, newspaper clippings, and selective dissemination of Information. IR software using DSpace is installed that harbours the Institutional Repository showcasing the research publications of faculty and students of BMSCA. Preprints, Reprints of research papers, conference papers, technical reports, books, chapter/s in books, popular articles, theses and dissertations, student project reports, and other intellectual output of the faculty. E-Books and University examination question papers of past years are field and can be accessed for reference.

Other major infrastructure facilities available

Campus boasts specialised facilities to support comprehensive education. The computer lab is equipped with cutting-edge technology and software supporting advanced design work outputs. The Art workshop, Carpentry and Model-making workshops provide tools for creative and practical projects, from artistic endeavours to detailed design models. The Construction yard offers hands-on experience in real-world building techniques. Innovation and Fabrication Lab features A0 plotting, Laser cutting, and 3D Printers, enabling students to explore their creative ideas extensively. The Acoustic lab, Electrical and Illumination lab, Environmental and Climatology lab, Survey lab, Plumbing and Sanitation Lab equipped with latest instruments facilitates the study, experiment and explore newer ideas and outcomes. The Material Museum and Material testing Lab offer extensive resources on building materials and performance of various building materials. At the same time, the Digital and Photography lab provides high-end cameras and software (such as Adobe Suite) for documenting and developing digital portfolios. These state-of-the-art facilities ensure students gain practical knowledge and skills, fostering innovation and a thorough understanding of relevant principles in a supportive and resource-rich environment. The student activity spaces such as NASA room, Activity lounge, Colloquium Conclave, Learn Labs render the ancillary facilities while sharing other advanced labs within the adjacent Engineering campus extends the horizons of multi-disciplinary learning.

Hostel Facilities

Hostel facilities are provided considering student needs offering a blend of comfort, security, and sense of community co-living. Dwelling units cater to the diverse needs of resident students. Twin sharing rooms fostering a sense of camaraderie between fellow roommates. Safety is paramount, with CCTV cameras monitoring common areas and round-the-clock security personnel ensuring a secure environment. Connectivity with broadband Wi-Fi is available throughout the premises, allowing students to stay connected with family, friends, and their academic or professional world.

Sports and Cultural Activities:

Sports department prides itself on providing excellent facilities and fostering a culture of athletic excellence. It caters to sports such as basketball, volleyball, cricket, and kho-kho, while ensuring that students get ample opportunities to pursue sports of their interests. The department has a well-furnished Sports room, Student activity centre with provision for ensuing various Indoor sports, open spaces along with common campus amenities that includes a well-equipped Indoor Sports Complex, Gymnasiums and Playground. BMS CAD&P students have consistently excelled in various inter-college and state-level competitions, bringing numerous trophies and accolades. Our commitment to sports ensures that students not only excel academically but also develop a lifelong appreciation for fitness and teamwork.

Cultural activities thrive through the vibrant EKYA CLUB, encompassing the Dance, Music, Theatre, and Fashion Clubs. These clubs infuse energy into college events, actively participating in both intra and inter-college competitions, garnering numerous prizes and accolades. Students benefit from exposure to various technical college festivals, enriching their experiences. Notably, the dance team’s achievements stand out, having secured multiple awards at the prestigious National Architecture Students Association (NASA) conventions at national level. The fashion team is unique in its presentation with a blend of architecture and fashion design. Institution also hosts other clubs under the Ekya banner such as Nature Club, Music club, Graphics Club, and Literary Club conducting activities such as Tree Plantation Drives, Lake Clean up drives, Debates, Essay Competitions, Poster making Competitions to encourage students in the overall development of skillsets. Shilpaankura, Kannada Sangha embraces the beauty of the Kannada Language and actively hosts various events including Dance, Drama, Music to enhance the knowledge in the language.

National Cadet Corps (NCC)

Institution boasts as one of the few Architectural schools with a robust National Cadet Corps (NCC) Unit. The unit plays a pivotal role in shaping the character and discipline of our students offering a comprehensive program that fosters leadership, teamwork, and community service among our cadets. The various facilities provided include:

• NCC Office: For administrative work and meetings.
• Training Grounds: For regular drills, parades, and ceremonial activities, along with open spaces and sports fields for various training exercises in the premises.
• Classroom/Training Room: A designated hall for theoretical classes and indoor training sessions, equipped with seating arrangements, a whiteboard, a projector, and other teaching aids.
• Resource Materials: Books, charts, dummy rifles, compass, and digital resources for NCC training and research.
• Transport Facilities: To visit outdoor camps, community service activities, and inter-college NCC events.
• Support Staff: ANO/CTO officer, instructor, and administrative staff for effective management and training.

NCC cadets have consistently demonstrated excellence, participating in battalion, state and national camps, and winning accolades for their performance. Our cadets have showcased innovative models representing our institution at prestigious events such as the Republic Day Parade and the PM Rally, securing awards for their outstanding discipline and skills. Through NCC, students develop resilience, leadership qualities, and a strong sense of national pride. They actively engage with community organizations, conducting social service and development projects. The NCC program is a cornerstone of our commitment to holistic education, preparing students to be disciplined, responsible, and patriotic citizens.
