BMS CAD&P has one of the largest, fully automated ‘Library and Information Centre’ hosting best collection of books, journals, magazines, thesis, project reports, CDs, e-resources, and government documents (Master Plan Documents, Handbooks, etc.). The library collection currently comprises of print books under heads of UG, PG, and Research, over 2500 e-books, nearly 70 national and international print journals, along with subscriptions to 10 databases. It is designed to meet the information needs of the students, research Scholars, faculty, and staff members provided with an exclusive digital reference section. The library has subscriptions of top referencing such as JSTOR Sustainability, JSTOR Collection, DELNET, Knowledge Hub (K-Hub), Charles Correa Archive, Grammarly, DrillBits plagiarism software, and under VTU Consortium- Taylor and Francis, ProQuest, Springer, Elsevier, Emerald, IEEE Databases and many more. Library functions between 8 AM – 8 PM on all working days to benefit for extended referencing hours. To enable accessibility, the library provides remote access to e-resources, virtual reference services, and a question point service called as ‘Ask Librarian’. The automation system includes an entirely bar-coded collection using RFID Technology and integrated with Koha Library Management Software. The library offers many services to users, such as an online book renewal and reservation system, an online public access catalogue, online purchase suggestions, database orientation, patron management, book bank facility, special encouragement for the top three students each semester, newspaper clippings, and selective dissemination of Information. IR software using DSpace is installed that harbours the Institutional Repository showcasing the research publications of faculty and students of BMSCA. Preprints, Reprints of research papers, conference papers, technical reports, books, chapter/s in books, popular articles, theses and dissertations, student project reports, and other intellectual output of the faculty. E-Books and University examination question papers of past years are field and can be accessed for reference.
