Placement & Training Centre

Training and Placement Section was established in the year 2004, to initiate industry institute interaction activities with an aim to provide placement opportunities to the students of first batch itself. Though we had a humble beginning, with the support from BMS Educational Trust and strong alumni network, we could achieve considerable breakthrough in providing ample opportunities to our students over the years. Today, our alumni are present in about 800+ organizations across the globe. On an average 250+ organisations visit BMSIT&M year on year for campus recruitment. The training and placement section regularly discovers the ways to make our students more employable by providing quality training, internships, alumni interactions, employability enhancement courses, senior to junior mentorship, leadership talks by corporates and regular participation in industry driven sessions/events. The section provides value added services like mock interviews and group discussions, company specific assessments through Hackerearth platform. We start training the students from second year onwards towards placement preparations. The Placement and Training centre has dedicated infrastructure, human resources and necessary facilities to host companies for campus drives and industry based events. BMSIT&M has a good placement track record among the top ranked engineering colleges in Karnataka.

Library Facilities

BMSIT&M Library activities are computerized with all items barcoded and accommodated within spacious area measuring 1712 Sq. Mtr. The library is automated with KOHA, a web based open-source software. A Digital Library has been established with 40 nodes and a dedicated IBM server along with 15TB storage space. The users can access Library OPAC and Digital Library anytime from anywhere. The Library has a comprehensive collection of 65,226 Volumes and 15,066 book titles, 113 print journals, 12,916 e-journals, 49,013 e-books and numerous NPTEL repositories in engineering and allied subjects catering to the needs of faculty, research scholars, staff and students. The Library has institutional membership with National Digital Library (NDLI), British Library, DELNET and IIMB.

Higher Education Facilitation Centre (HEFC):

HEFC was established with a vision to provide trustworthy, reliable, and authentic information, resources, and advice to prospective students to pursue their higher education. BMSIT&M has a great track-record of students opting for higher education – Master’s and Ph.D. – in various universities abroad. In the past few years, our students have gone to the USA, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, Germany, Sweden, Netherlands, Ireland and so on.

BMS Innovation Centre and Entrepreneurship Park (BICEP):

BICEP has been established to encourage students and faculty to catalyse development of innovation-driven enterprises. The centre has been recognized and approved as the Host institute to setup Business Incubator (BI) by Ministry of MSME, Govt. of India. The centre promotes innovation at the institute and conducts activities to engage its students to get first-hand experience in entrepreneurship. It provides comprehensive and integrated support including space, mentoring, training, networking and an array of other benefits. BICEP is supported with Aarohan – a hardware innovation laboratory with all tools and components for hardware innovative projects. Financial support is extended to students and faculty members through BICEP for innovative project execution, participation in technical and entrepreneurial competitions at state and national level. The centre offers training in ideation, business planning, entrepreneurship, marketing, business communication, intellectual property, idea pitching etc. BICEP is supported by a pool of 20+ experienced mentors from technical, business and legal background. The centre has a dedicated advisor to deal with all queries related to company formation and mandatory compliances. At present, BICEP is nurturing with four start-ups in the domain of technology in waste management, EdTech, Drones and IT Services. These start-ups have received support and recognition from Karnataka Startup Elevate Chapter, IIT Madras, Smart India Hackathon and DPIIT.

Hostel Facilities

The Institute has exclusive hostel facilities for men and women. They accommodate 500 men, 120 women. The hostels are fully furnished with double/triple occupancy rooms. In addition, a separate hostel block for NRI/PIO students is also available. First Aid facility and medical supervision are made available by the Resident Doctor with 24X7 ambulance facility. The hostels are equipped with 24 Hrs power supply with generator backup. The other key facilities at hostels include Solar water, News Paper section, Washing machines, RO Water, TV Hall, CCTV surveillance, Elevators, Wi-Fi, Gym, Indoor Games, Reading Hall, Dish washing machine and Vending machine.

Sports and Cultural Activities

The department of physical education is headed by an experienced and qualified sports person. The institute encourages students and staff to be active in sports and organises various events for their physical well-being. The students are trained and mentored to participate in VTU, state and national level competitions and institute hosts various such events. In addition, the institute has an active NCC and NSS units. We at BMSIT&M also encourage students to participate in cultural and extra-curricular activities through various clubs and forums. Our students have won various prizes and received accolades for their efforts in sports, NCC, NSS and cultural activities at national and state level.

BMSIT&M is located on Doddaballapura Main Road, 5 km from Yelahanka Town and within a radius of 10 km from Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru (KIAB).
