Placement & Training Centre

The Placement Cell is a well-structured platform designed by the college to provide the right orientation on various job opportunities available through reputable recruiters, to effectively train the students and to facilitate the entire recruitment process. The cell is focused on providing quality training to the students at all stages of recruitment. B.M.S College for Women is providing ample opportunities to its students in attaining their career goal.

The Placement Department has been active right from its inception in 1999. All the students who are in need of placements register with the placement cell with all relevant details. Placement Cell maintains a database of prospective employers for placement opportunities and future communications. The cell also manages campus recruitment and arranges employers visit to the campus to interact with the graduating students and the subsequent recruitment process. It also organizes and conducts different activities to enhance the placement possibility of the students on a regular basis in each year. The placement cell meets regularly to plan and monitor the various placement activities. The minutes of the meetings are maintained for reference.

Several prestigious organizations and companies regularly recruit students from the campus. Highly reputed companies like CGI, INFOSYS – BPM, Northern Trust, Qspiders, UNISYS, BPS, TCS – IT, Tech Mahindra, Piramal Finance Limited, Quess Corp, PWC, Deloitte, Atlas, EY, Global Career Academy, PWC, Kapture, Intellipaat, Airtel,IES, Apps & Devices, Go Alpha Kid etc regularly visit the college for recruiting young talents.

Library facilities

Library serves as a central information hub for students, faculty, staff, and researchers. Housed on the first floor in a spacious area with a well-seating capacity, the library features a separate reading room, reference section, periodical section, reprographic section, competitive book corner, technical section, and a display of new arrivals. With a collection of over sixty thousand reference books, encyclopedias, textbooks, national and international journals, and periodicals, the library is dedicated to enhancing the quality of learning through its extensive resources.

Library continually improves its services by adopting best practices to benefit users and research scholars. It is equipped with superior e-resources, allowing access to more than 6,150 e-journals and 31,35,000 e-books through the “National Library and Information Services Infrastructure for Scholarly Content (N-LIST)” of the INFLIBNET Centre. The open-access system facilitates easy access to resources, and inter-library links provide additional benefits for students and staff.

Facilities and services include circulation service, reference service, OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue), Journal service, periodical service, journal TOC’s service, back volume journals, institutional membership, institutional repository, digital library, e-resources remote accessing facility, Wi-Fi connectivity, and 30 hi-tech computers. Additional services include reprographic service, UGC book bank, SC/ST book bank, competitive books, display of new arrivals, newspaper clipping service, Braille books for visually challenged students, special facilities for physically challenged students, previous year’s question paper bank, and an orientation program for newly enrolled library users.

The library at BMS College for Women boasts an extensive collection of resources catering to both undergraduate and postgraduate students. It houses 62,943 books for undergraduate studies and 65,727 for postgraduate studies. Additionally, the library subscribes to 35 national and international journals, 25 magazines, and 11 newspapers, providing a diverse array of current publications. The collection also includes 900 educational CD-ROMs and 1,810 bound volumes.

B.M.S College is a breeding ground of ample opportunities for its students. The College offers UG Courses in Arts, Science, Commerce, Business Administration, Computer Science and Vocational Courses. To equip students with the necessary skills for employment and entrepreneurship, Add-on, Diploma and Certificate courses are conducted throughout the year. The college offers Postgraduate Courses in Commerce, Mathematics and Chemistry. The campus is self-contained with everything that a student needs, including accessibility, infrastructure, library, recreation, indoor and outdoor facilities. It ensures a learning experience with cutting edge facilities. Advanced facilities such as smart class rooms, sophisticated labs, Museums, ICT integration in Teaching and learning and health and wellness facilities for both staff and students. The Computing equipment and facilities make the learning process easier and effective. All computing systems are equipped with Microsoft Campus License..The College has licensed Software packages for advanced learning.

The Counselling Centre at B.M.S is supportive in addressing the students wide range of concerns in their daily lives. Counselor address the problems that the students encounter in and outside Various clubs offers a range of activities and opportunities for students to explore their interests and gain skills through events, workshops, community engagement programmes and extension activities. Teachers are great mentors for students. Mentoring committee members provide guidance, feedback, advice and support to mentee.

Hostel facility offers comfortable accommodations with modern amenities at B.M.S College of Engineering hostel on request.

The College is endowed with medical support systems ,modern gymnasium, parking facility (available to both students and faculty), playground, Well maintained Cafeteria, Stationary & Xerox shop. The College has taken measures to address the need for vigilance and security. The campus is CCTV-enabled to cater to the safety requirements.

Sports and Cultural Activities

Physical education is an integral part of education which helps in the overall development of an individual. Physical education helps an individual to develop physically, mentally, emotionally and socially through physical activities. The Department of Physical Education with the talented bunch of students has been performing outstandingly right from the outset. Our students have brought in fame and splendor the domain of Sports Achievements. Regular coaching is provided to the students in Volleyball, Throw ball, Netball, fencing, Handball, Kho-kho, Ball badminton, Kabaddi, Tennikoit, Shuttle badminton, and Cricket.

We cherish a very proud tradition of sports and it can claim among its alumni sportswomen of national reputation. Many National and International Players were produced by the department. The college teams participate in the intercollegiate and other major sports activities at state, All India Interuniversity, National, and International Levels. We also have rich experience in organizing inter collegiate Level Sports activities- ZEAL.

SWO at B.M.S College aimed to showcase the talents of students and encourage involvement in cultural. It is a unique platform for the students to come together and to express their cultural talents. Student’s participation in cultural activities enhances the personal skills and experiences confidence, team work, time management and organizational skills, self-awareness etc. SWO organizes various cultural events like talents day and gives practice and training for students to participate in intercollegiate competitions. The institution has an open auditorium and stage which can be used for conducting various cultural events. Trainers are hired to give coaching in special cultural events for the student

Sports Facilities

• The ground measures 100` x 80` in an area in which various sports are practiced daily. In the morning sessions Netball, handball, and Kabaddi games are practiced, evening Kho kho, volleyball, Throwball, Fencing and Ball badminton games are practiced.
• 12 station Multi Gym, Dumbbells, Barbells, Treadmill, Cross trainer facilities are available in the department for students. Training is given according to the individuals specific needs viz Strength, agility, endurance, speed. The College staff members also utilize the gym facility. The gym equipments are regularly cleaned, oiled, and repaired in case of damage. The ground is also maintained well and dressing of the ground is done whenever required.
• Indoor games- Carrom, Chess, Table tennis and weight lifting arepractised regularly.
• Outdoor – Volleyball, Netball, Handball, Kho-kho, Ball badminton, Kabaddi, Tennikoit, Shuttle badminton, Athletics,Tug of war , Cricketand Throwball are played regularly.
• All the equipment like Cricket kit, Volleyballs, Throwballs, Netballs, Ball badminton balls and rackets, Handballs, Badminton rackets, and shuttlecocks are well utilized by students and staff.
• Students play Shuttle badminton, Carrom, Table tennis and chess in their leisure time.
• Yoga and Shuttle badminton are practiced in the open auditorium.
